To satisfy
everyone's taste in Prague, is one of the simplest thing
to do, just for the high number of restaurants and amall
kiosks, that bundle up the historical centre's streets.
In anyway there's a great variety of food , from beef
to river's fish till vegetarian courses.
Restaurant's service usually is good and people are kind. The
courses are plentiful and the bill is quite cheap.
Along the evocative city's streets there are many typical
kiosks where we find sausages gyros chicken on the spit
and pizza at economical prices.
Meat is an essential
food in Czeck cooking, above all pork duck and
goose, served with characteristic bread gnocchi
and potatoes gnocchi. The national course is the
shin pork that is so good! But very appreciable
is roast duck too, always served with the biggest
pint of beer you've ever seen, if possible not
filtrated and of own production. Very particular
are some kind of cakes that are "gnocchi" with
fruits inside, boiled and covered with sugar and
cottage cheese.
Another kind of cake is one type
of brioche with cottage cheese and/or plums marmelade.
Bier is the mational
drink for Czech people, but wine is appreciate
too.
Bier's production started several years ago and
has a great tradition mostly in Bohemia where hop's
quality is a pride.
The most famous bier is "Prazdroj" (knew
with the german name Pilsner Urquell, that means "old
Pilsen's font") produced since 1842 in Plzen.
The second most important bier is Budvar (Budwaiser
in german) produced since 1531 a Ceskè Budejovice
in South Bohemia.
Wine has produced mostly in central
Bohemia (Melnìk) in south Moravia(Bzenec, Hodonìn,
Mikulov, Valtice e Znojmo).
Very very famous are, Becherovka di Karlovy Vary based
on medicinal herbs and the Slivovice , exquisite plums
acqua-vitae typical product of Moravia and south Slovakia.
Delicious is classic Borovicha got from jumperberry;
and good is old Medovina too, a honey liqueur, yet knew
to the first slav people in this Country.
